2. Let’s learn something about the common Thermoplastic Elastomer.

TPE. In general, we refer to TPE as a SEBS-based blended modified thermoplastic elastomer. The hardness of the TPE of the SEBS system ranges from 0 to 100 A. The appearance is natural or transparent. The flame when burning is yellow or yellow and blue, the smoke is light and has an aromatic odor.But in fact, when users encounter TPE, we subjectively understand the TPE of a specific SEBS system, but choose a suitable TPE type according to his specific requirements.

TPR, this is the name of users in Taiwan and even in Asia. Earlier, some people used SBS synthetic modification to make a rubber, but this rubber is thermoplastic. The English meaning is Thermo-plasticrubber, abbreviated TPR. After the SBS family, there is a high-performance material SEBS, which is blended and modified. The manufacturer refers to TPE to distinguish it from the TPS modified by SBS. However, many users (especially in Taiwan and Asia) still use the term TPR, but do not pay much attention to the differences in SEBS and SBS materials. In fact, there are some performance differences between TPE (TPR) of SEBS and SBS systems. TPR (based on the above analysis, in a sense with TBS of SEBS as a material) looks transparent or white particles with a hardness of 0~100A. TPS (TPES)

TPS (TPES), a foreign name, is a blended modified material of styrenic thermoplastic elastomer SBC (such as SEBS, SBS, SEPS, SIS) as TPS (TPES). But in fact, TPS The material may not only have this meaning. Therefore, if the user is looking for a TPS material, it is recommended to know what the user is doing, what are the specific requirements, and whether the styrene elastomer SBC blending modified material is suitable.

TPO, a polyolefin thermoplastic elastomer. It is a copolymer of various linear olefins or a blend of linear polyolefins with other materials. Common EVA, POE can be seen as such an elastomer. The appearance is translucent or transparent particles.

TPV is a blend of dynamically vulcanized elastomer of PP and EPDM. TPV can be regarded as a kind of TPO, but it is endowed with its excellent comprehensive performance due to its special dynamic vulcanization system. (TPV has better solvent resistance, high temperature resistance and mechanical strength than TPE of TBS system, TPR) .TPV is a relatively successful and extensive rubber-plastic blend elastomer currently used, so the TPV is listed separately. The application of TPV in the automotive industry will be optimistic in the industry. TPV burns with the petroleum odor of polypropylene PP, and its appearance is yellow or light yellow particles, usually ranging from 50 to 100A.

TPAE, a polyamide thermoplastic elastomer. It has outstanding resilience and flex resistance. The current application field is not extensive and belongs to special thermoplastic elastomers.

TPU thermoplastic polyurethane. MDI containing NCO functional group and POLYOL and 1.4BG containing OH functional group are prepared by kneading and kneading. Because of good elasticity, good physical properties and various mechanical strengths. Therefore, it is widely used in injection, extrusion, calendering and dissolving into a solution type resin. It is a plastic material often used by the plastics processing industry, and its products cover a range of industrial applications and consumer necessities. The appearance of TPU is transparent particles with a hardness of 65A~80D. The burning has a special odor and has a nourishing sound.

TPEE is a polyester elastomer containing a polyether hard segment and a polyester soft segment in the molecular chain, and has excellent mechanical strength, high temperature resistance and aging resistance. Hardness range: 30D~80D.
